Today is Monday, May 11, 2020, and kicks off Hospital Week. Tangipahoa
Parish President Robby Miller will be issuing a proclamation today recognizing
North Oaks.
State Stats: Louisiana has had 31,600 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with
2,213 deaths and 20,316 patients presumed recovered. There are 1,324 COVID-19
patients hospitalized, and 161 are on vents.
Governor Edwards will be holding a press conference this afternoon at 2:30
p.m. to announce whether we will take steps to loosen restrictions. As
a result, we WILL have a 7:30 Executive Team/MEC meeting on Tuesday, and
a 10 a.m. Leadership call. Please mark your calendars.
North Oaks Stats: We have 20 COVID-19 positive patients in-house and 2
PUIs; one patient is on a vent. We successfully discharged another patient
over the weekend, bringing our total to 143 recovered. Unfortunately,
we did have one nursing home patient pass this weekend.
Employee Wellness reports 11 employees monitoring at home and 2 pending
return to work evaluations today.
Population Health had 15 calls to the COVID-19 line this weekend, with
4 video visits. We did 51 drive-through tests on Friday, and there are
16 scheduled for today. In total, we have performed 2,519 tests with 470
positive and 72 pending.
Surgical Services reports 133 cases last week (about 40% of normal volume),
and 96 already scheduled for this week. The ODC has 130 patients scheduled
for today (about 50% of volume). While walk-in clinic volume is still
down, clinic volume is increasing and the no-show rate is low. We saw
1,500 patients in the clinics last week, and conducted 500 telemed visits.
Please encourage your colleagues to wear their masks appropriately –
even in line for PJs or the cafeteria. Masks should cover the nose, mouth
and chin and fit closely to the face.
No issues with supplies or staffing to report.
Tuesday (tomorrow) is the last day of the Raising Cane’s neck gaiter
fundraiser for the Foundation. See attached for information.
