every Wednesday until further notice.

tomorrow afternoon, Wednesday, July 29, as a small token of our ongoing
appreciation for your hard work and dedication to our mission of improving
lives in these unprecedented times. (Leaders or their designees will be
able to pick up ice cream supplies to bring back to their departments
starting at 1:30 p.m.) Enjoy!
- All areas that order COVID-19 tests can expect to receive education this
week regarding some updates that have been made to the COVID-19 Order
Questionnaire in Epic. The updates were made to comply with a mandate

Please adhere to proper masking processes for your safety and that of our
patients and your co-workers. Here are a few reminders:
- Universal masking is required upon entry to all facilities. The temp check
stations distribute disposable masks for this purpose.
- Proper wear of masks requires that your nose and mouth are covered. Your
mask should not be worn dangling to the side or pushed down on your chin
(aka, bearding).
- The only times that masks can be removed are if you are alone in a private
office with the door closed or in a break room actively eating or drinking.
Note: A maximum of three people – socially distanced – are
allowed in a break room at one time.
- Cloth masks may be worn by non-clinical staff members, who stay in non-clinical
areas. Non-clinical staff who frequent clinical areas must wear hospital-issued
disposable masks instead of cloth masks.
- Staff members for a few procedural areas are being permitted to wear cloth
masks when coming in to the facility and traveling to their respective
departments. Upon arrival to the procedural area, these staff members
must remove the fabric mask and don a disposable ear loop mask or tie
mask as is required for the respective area.
- Never double-mask.
- N95 masks are not to be worn outside of the patient or procedure room.
Again, please do not double-mask to cover any mask.
- We are fortunate to have adequate mask supplies at this time and are not
having to use our contingency plans.
- Employee Wellness returned 13 employees to work yesterday. We have 47 employees
– 10 of which are RNs – out pending testing results or self-monitoring
symptoms at home. This week’s numbers represent an improvement from
last week, but staffing remains tight. As a reminder, please call Employee
Wellness at ext. 5717 if you are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 to be
triaged and receive guidance on next steps. If you get tested, you must
stay home to monitor symptoms until you receive test results. Please remember
to inform Employee Wellness of your status, and get cleared to return to duty.
- North Oaks Guidance for Discontinuation of Isolation for COVID-19 Positive
Patients has been revised. The updated guidelines can be accessed via
the OakLink COVID-19 Updates Portal.
