COVID by the Numbers:
-
State Stats: 120,846 cases; 3,910 deaths; 1,496 hospitalized (trending
down), with 230 on vents (trending up.) As mask use increases, we have
seen numbers plateau statewide and in our own Region 9.
- Dr. Newman was interviewed by the Daily Star yesterday about how masking
has contributed to the plateau in cases. Check out the story in today’s issue.
-
North Oaks Stats:
- NOMC: 34 positive cases in-house, 6 on vents. We’ve recovered 370
patients, up 38 from last Thursday. Sadly, one nursing home patient passed
away Saturday.
- NORH: Census is 18; 1 positive case.
- Hood: Census is 15; 1 positive case.
- We have tested a total of 8,431 patients, with 1,509 positive and 282 results pending.
- The drive-through testing station remains closed.
- The COVID Hotline received 88 calls yesterday.
- Kanna reports no change in clinic volume and volume in ODC is steady.
- Employee wellness reports 33 employees out monitoring symptoms; 10 are
RNs. One employee returned to work yesterday.
- Kirsten reports staffing is tight in some areas, especially at night. Many
thanks to our fabulous nursing supervisors, who have come in to help cover
shifts and support their teams.
- Supply of COVID tests is low, so we are conserving them for those patients
most in need. Also, small-sized gloves are in short supply and we are
working on sourcing those.
- ]If anyone is interested in extra hours, we need help on August 8 and 9
at the temperature check stations. Please contact Staci Arceneaux for
more information (ext. 6674).
- Everyone be careful out there! Mask, wash your hands and social distance!
