- Happy 60th Anniversary, North Oaks Family! Look for a video greeting from Michele Sutton on Facebook later today. Board Chairman Ron Macaluso is throwing us a pizza party for lunch and dinner. We’ve communicated with leadership about pick up instructions. A proper celebration with employees, physicians, volunteers and community partners will be held later this summer/fall.
- Good news: Dr. Rob Peltier reports that volumes of COVID-19 are decreasing about 10% every three days across Louisiana and our parish. The tunnel is long, but we’re beginning to see the light at the end (hopefully).
- State Stats: As of Sunday, there were 23,928 positive patients total across all parishes, with 1,296 deaths. There are 1,748 patients hospitalized, with 349 on vents.
- North Oaks Stats: We have 29 COVID-19 positive patients in-house today, with 5 patients under investigation. Two patients are on vents. We had 2 new patients under investigation admitted over the weekend. Nine patients were successfully discharged over the weekend, bringing out total to 93. One death occurred on Saturday. There was no change in the number of patients intubated/extubated.
- Employee Wellness Reports 23 employees are home monitoring. Nineteen (19) employees were cleared to return to work Friday. Today is the last day for FIT testing in the 5th floor tower conference room from 1-3 p.m.
- Population health reports 80 calls over the weekend, with 22 video visits and 28 visits to the walk-in clinics – volume is slowly decreasing here as well. Drive through operations are suspended today, but we anticipate being able to open on Tuesday and Wednesday if additional test kits arrive as anticipated. We have 28 patients in the queue.
- NOPG reports that all PCPs have been trained on myChart video visits. Cardiology, ENT and Psychiatry will be brought online this week.
- We are working supply chains to secure additional gowns and test kits. We use 900 isolations gowns/day; 1,800 masks; and 400 N95 masks. We have purchased reusable scrub jackets that can be laundered in-house as a contingency plan.
- We received 24 rapid test kits for the PCR testing machine; however, it will take 10 tests to calibrate the new machine, and 2 tests are needed for QC every day. So, supplies of test kits for rapid testing are low at this time.
- Mark Anderson thanked leaders for their help in fine-tuning flex plans.
- We are awaiting additional guidance from parish and state leaders about plans to phase in services as we return to (the new) normal. Additional details will be provided when available.
