What Do Rheumatologists Do?
Rheumatologists are doctors of internal medicine – also called “internists” – who have additional training in diagnosing and treating rheumatic diseases. Determining a correct diagnosis early on means appropriate treatment can begin as soon as possible. Because rheumatic diseases often change and evolve over time, a rheumatologist works closely with you to identify the problem, design an individualized treatment program and monitor your progress.
