North Oaks audiologists focus on your hearing problems through identification and evaluation of your hearing loss. Our audiology staff also can produce custom ear molds for swimmers, musicians and hunters to protect their ears from hearing loss. We treat patients of all ages – from newborns to senior adults.
If you suspect hearing loss, the first step is to get a hearing test to identify the cause. Early identification and treatment are important to reaching developmental milestones.

Pediatric audiology examinations, including:
Visual reinforcement audiometry – a test that allows an audiologist to assess hearing in infants and toddlers who are too young for normal tests
Otoacoustic emission testing (OAE) – used to determine how well your inner ear, or cochlea, works. It measures otoacoustic emissions, or OAEs
Auditory brainstem response testing (ABR or BAER) – used to determine test hearing thresholds and assess the functional status of the auditory neural pathway that is used to determine the cause of hearing loss and candidacy for hearing loss treatments
Videonystagmography (VNG) – a test that measures a type of eye moment an individual cannot control
Electrocochleography (ECochG) – an electrophysiological technique that records electrical potentials generated by different parts of the inner ear and peripheral cochlear nerve in response to acoustic stimulation
