Nielsen Joins Northshore Urological Associates

Certified by the American Board of Urology, Dr. Nielsen launched his career as a urologist seven years ago in Jacksonville, Florida and has practiced in the Greater New Orleans area for the past two years.

He specializes in diagnosing and treating medical conditions affecting the male and female urinary tract and the male reproductive system. Dr. Nielsen’s areas of expertise include robotic surgery and other minimally invasive treatments for enlarged prostate and kidney stones that help patients recover more quickly and return to everyday life. He also has advanced training in urologic reconstruction.

Dr. Nielsen’s patient-centered approach emphasizes tailored care. “Some treatments may not be suitable for everyone. My role involves presenting all the available treatment options to my patients and helping them confidently choose the one that is right for them,” he explains.

Dr. Nielsen graduated summa cum laude from the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio with his medical degree. He completed a surgical internship and urology residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, where he was honored as Intern of the Year and Most Outstanding Resident.

Professionally, he is a member of the American Urological Association.

Northshore Urological Associates has locations in Hammond and Livingston. The Hammond clinic is in Suite 204 of North Oaks Office Plaza at 15770 Paul Vega, MD, Drive. The Livingston clinic is in Suite 210 of North Oaks-Livingston Parish Medical Complex at 17199 Spring Ranch Road in Livingston.
