Physician Assistant Madison Anderson, PA-C, has joined North Oaks Hematology and Oncology.
Anderson will work with triple board-certified Dr. Georges Tanios, who is committed to compassionate cancer diagnosis and care.
Anderson earned a master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University in Baton Rouge after graduating from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science. She is certified in advanced cardiovascular life support and basic life support.
As a young child, Madison knew she wanted to help people who were affected by cancer after experiencing her late grandmother’s fight with colon cancer.
“I always knew I wanted to make a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer and belong to a team that ensures all patients receive comprehensive care,” states Anderson. “I chose to practice at North Oaks because I wanted to work with an organization that treated patients like family.”
Physician assistants are nationally certified, state-licensed medical professionals who practice on medical teams under the supervision of a physician. They are qualified to assist in surgeries and procedures, take medical histories, conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret tests, develop treatment plans, offer preventive care counseling, write prescriptions, and make rounds on hospitalized patients.
