As Louisianians, we understand all too well the sting of destruction that hurricanes can bring. We’ve seen firsthand how storms can upend lives, homes, and entire communities. Yet, amidst the devastation, we’ve also experienced the incredible warmth of acts of kindness and generosity as we rebuild and recover together. Now, it’s our turn to pay it forward to those affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
From October 11 to 18, join us in supporting the North Oaks Cares Hurricane Donation Drive. This is an opportunity for the North Oaks family—and our extended community—to make a meaningful difference for those who need it most.
We’re proud to partner with Ground Force Humanitarian Aid (formerly known as Cajun Navy Ground Force), a data-driven disaster response and humanitarian aid nonprofit. Ground Force is committed to ensuring that every donation reaches the people and communities hit hardest by these devastating storms.
What We’re Collecting:
We are focusing on essential supplies to provide immediate relief for those affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Your donations can help families stay safe, clean, and nourished as they rebuild their lives. Here’s what we’re collecting:
- Toilet paper
- Paper Towels
- Diapers/Baby Clothes
- Feminine Hygiene Products
- Full Body Wipes
- Blankets (new)
- Warm Socks (new)
- Ziploc Bags
- Bug Spray
- Toiletries: Bar soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, hand soap
How to Donate:
Between October 11 and 18, drop off your donations in the collection bins located at either the North Oaks Medical Center Cafeteria or the North Oaks Rehabilitation Hospital Cafeteria. Each item you contribute will go directly to those impacted by these storms, bringing them a little more comfort and hope in a challenging time.
Why It Matters:
At North Oaks, we are driven by our mission to improve lives, and that mission extends far beyond the walls of our health system. Together, as a community, we have the power to offer more than just supplies—we can provide hope and a helping hand to fellow citizens facing the difficult task of rebuilding their homes, neighborhoods, and lives.
