Heidi Morreale, BSN, clinical nurse manager, received North Oaks Health System's Leader of the Quarter Award for July, August and September 2023.
Heidi joined the North Oaks Medical Center team in 2002 as a staff nurse in the General Surgery Unit. In 2005, she took on the added responsibility of charge nurse on the unit. Heidi transferred to the Orthopedics and Neurosurgery Unit in 2012 to accept a promotion to her current position of clinical nurse manager.
“I believe it’s important to lead by example,” Heidi noted.
Heidi earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Southeastern Louisiana University.
“I knew from the experience of caring for my mother after her diagnosis with brain cancer that nursing was my calling,” she shared. “I have a passion for establishing connections with others based on respect, empathy and trust.”
Heidi and her husband Corey live in Ponchatoula with Ava, their 18-year-old daughter, and Noah, their 16-year-old son. Her favorite way to spend her time outside of work is supporting her children in their academic and athletic pursuits at both of her alma maters, Ponchatoula High School and Southeastern Louisiana University.
“Heidi is a shining example of what it means to be a compassionate and skilled leader,” asserted Tyler Brignac, MBA, BSN, RN, postoperative director. “She fosters a positive work environment by seeking out opportunities to collaborate with other departments and offer guidance and encouragement to her team. Her enthusiastic recruitment efforts for our new medical assistant-to-practical nursing program are a prime example of her commitment to the growth and development of our team.”
Professionally, Heidi is a member of the American Nurses Association.
