Patient Access Associate Kayla Honored with Employee of the Month Award

Patient Access Associate Kayla has received North Oaks Health System's Employee of the Month Award for February 2023.

In 2017, Kayla joined the North Oaks Patient Access team as an Associate assigned to North Oaks Diagnostic Center with a desire to positively impact the lives of patients through courtesy and compassion in her words and actions.

“I’m committed to being 100% present in the moment for each patient I serve,” shares Kayla.

Kayla graduated from University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a bachelor’s degree in psychology before earning a master’s degree in social work from Southern University at New Orleans.

Kayla lives in Killian with her husband Nathan. She enjoys reading, exercising, volunteering, and being outdoors as pastimes. Researching her family ancestry and visiting history museums also are hobbies. Most of all, she values spending time with Nathan and their adult children – Keenan, Christian, Kaitlyn and Hayley -- and her granddaughters, 4-year-old Kolby Cate and 2-year-old Malia.

“As a core member of the Patient Access team, patients and staff members across the health system are on a first-name basis with Kayla," asserts Patient Access Director Melissa Smith. "Their feedback consistently praises Kayla for going above and beyond to ensure exceptional patient care – always with a smile, an encouraging word and the brightest of outlooks.”
