Physician Assistant Jessica Cole Joins Northshore Urological Associates

Physician Assistant Jessica Cole, MPAS, PA-C, has joined Northshore Urological Associates, which is a clinic of North Oaks Health System.

Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, Cole joins a team comprised of Urologists Stephen M. Graham, M.D., and Brad M. Lake, M.D.; and Nurse Practitioners Hannah Fugarino, APRN, FNP-C, and Kimberly Marcel, APRN, FNP-C.

Together, these providers specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of male and female urinary tract disorders and the male reproductive system.

Cole has been a North Oaks Physician Group provider since May 2021 with North Oaks Neurosurgery Clinic.

“By joining the Northshore Urological Associates team, I have realized a personal goal to work in this particular specialty of medicine,” Cole shares. “Having lost two of my grandparents to bladder cancer, I am driven to help provide expert medical care to patients with reproductive and urological health concerns in a compassionate and empathetic manner.”

Cole earned a master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies through the Louisiana State University (LSU) Health Sciences Center School of Allied Health Professions in Shreveport. Before that, she graduated cum laude from LSU in Baton Rouge with a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and minor in Psychology.

While at LSU in Shreveport, she volunteered with Junior Achievement providing hands-on learning opportunities for elementary school students; Camp Jambalaya Jubilee, organizing special needs activities for children with rheumatoid conditions; and Common Ground Community Inc., preparing and distributing hot meals to individuals in need and helping them pick out groceries and clothing. She also gained experience in the medical field as a Physical Therapy Technician for nearly one year and as a Recovery Technician for Southern Eye Bank for nearly two years.

Professionally, she belongs to the Louisiana Academy of Physician Assistants.

Physician Assistants are nationally certified, state-licensed medical professionals who practice on medical teams under the supervision of a physician. PAs are qualified to assist in surgery, take medical histories, conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret tests, develop treatment plans, offer preventive care counseling, write prescriptions and round on hospitalized patients.

The practice has locations in Hammond and Livingston. The Hammond clinic is located in Suite 204 of North Oaks Office Plaza at 15770 Paul Vega, M.D., Drive. The Livingston clinic is located in Suite 210 of North Oaks-Livingston Parish Medical Complex at 17199 Spring Ranch Road in Livingston.

Clinic hours of operation for both locations are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on weekdays.
