Pierre Joins North Oaks Family Medicine Team in Hammond

From preventive screenings and annual checkups to treatment of illnesses and management of chronic diseases, Pierre specializes in comprehensive health care for families.

“Establishing a strong relationship with my patients is really important to me,” Pierre asserts. “A relationship built on mutual trust is key to achieving best care for my patients.”

Pierre has belonged to the North Oaks Health System team for the majority of her 15-year medical career.

Even while working for the past two years as a nurse practitioner for Affinity Health Care’s population health clinic in Baton Rouge, she continued to work on the North Oaks Medical Center Labor & Delivery Unit as needed.

Before becoming a nurse practitioner, she worked for 12 years as a labor and delivery staff registered nurse – earning the North Oaks Nurse Excellence Award in 2012 and recognition as “Charge Nurse of the Year” during the health system’s National Nurses Week celebration in 2015. A champion of career advancement, Pierre also is a past chairman of the health system’s Nursing Shared Governance Professional Development Committee. Her prior experience also includes one year of caring for critical care patients at a Baton Rouge area hospital.

Pierre earned both master and bachelor’s degrees in Nursing from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux and is certified as a family nurse practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Nurse Practitioners are nationally certified, state-licensed medical professionals who practice independently. Nurse Practitioners are credentialed to manage the overall care of their patients, diagnose and treat medical conditions, prescribe medications and provide education to their patients on disease prevention and management.

Professionally, Pierre belongs to the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners.
