Lead Human Resources Generalist Emily Honored as Employee of the Month

Lead Human Resources Generalist Emily has received North Oaks Health System's Employee of the Month Award for March 2022.

Emily joined the North Oaks Human Resources team in 2019 as an Intern. After graduating from college, she became Secretary and advanced to Human Resources Generalist. In 2021, she was promoted to Lead Human Resources Generalist. With a love for making connections with others, Emily serves on the health system’s Employee Engagement Council and is currently in the process of applying to the Leadership Livingston program for the 2022-23 year.

“I love supporting our employees along their career journeys,” shares Emily.

She earned a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Louisiana State University in Shreveport and a bachelor’s degree in Health Systems Management from Southeastern Louisiana University. During her undergraduate internship at North Oaks, she had the opportunity to shadow for two weeks in Human Resources.

“I fell in love with the field,” Emily explains. “I made the right career decision—100%!”

Emily and her husband Matthew live in Walker and enjoy traveling together

Besides traveling with Matthew, Emily enjoys watching her brother play baseball and making cake pops.

“Emily has the brightest outlook and puts her all into attracting and recruiting job candidates that best fit our mission to improve lives," asserts Employee Services Director Tracy Pettigrew. "She’s a great role model, and I couldn’t be prouder of how she represents our culture and behavior standards of compassion, courtesy, commitment and communication.”
