Laboratory Section Supervisor Ashley Honored as Employee of the Month

Laboratory Section Supervisor Ashley has received North Oaks Health System's Employee of the Month Award for April 2022.

Ashley joined the North Oaks Department of Laboratories night shift team in 2019 as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist I. In the nearly four years since, she has advanced through the roles of Clinical Laboratory Scientist II and day shift Lead Laboratory Scientist to her current position of Laboratory Section Supervisor.

“I’m committed to working behind-the-scenes to make sure lab results are processed in a timely manner for our patients,” shares Ashley.

ted to have a career in the medical field. One trip to a hospital laboratory and she became captivated by the potential of a laboratory career path. She was intrigued by how it utilized her anatomy and pathology knowledge in unexpected ways.

“I love that not every day is the same,” she explains.

Ashley earned a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond and a bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences from Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University in Baton Rouge.

Ashley and her husband Seth live in Ponchatoula with their 7-year-old daughter Olivia and dogs Sherlock and Luna.

She loves musicals, playing outdoors with her family and teaching at Elite Dance Academy in Covington.

For the past six years, she has served as an Advisor for the Gamma Mu Chapter of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority.

“Ashley goes above and beyond to support her coworkers," asserts Laboratory Director Rachel Litchliter. "Extremely hardworking and dependable, she is the go-to person when her colleagues have a question or need a resolution. Simply put, she will not rest unless she knows that the highest quality results are being delivered for our patients.”
