Intermediate Care Unit Charge Nurse Kori Receives Nurse Excellence Award

Intermediate Care Unit Charge Nurse Kori has been honored with the North Oaks Health System Nurse Excellence Award for November 2021.

Kori joined North Oaks Medical Center’s Intermediate Care Unit team in 2008 as a Staff Registered Nurse. In 2013, she was promoted to her current position of Charge Nurse.

“I love taking care of people," Kori shares.

Kori first earned a bachelor’s degree in Business from Southeastern Louisiana University and embarked on a career in sales, but she struggled with feeling fulfilled.

“A friend suggested that I think about nursing. I applied to nursing school the next day and never looked back! It was meant to be,” she explains. “I love my job and my coworkers.”

Kori earned a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Our Lady of the Lake College in Baton Rouge.

“I love taking care of people and the critical thinking required by my job,” she affirms.

Kori makes her home in Albany with her husband Brandon and their children, 9-year-old Khloe and 7-year-old Kamryn. Camping is a favorite family activity.

“Kori exemplifies the characteristics of a great leader," asserts Clinical Nurse Manager Roger Rivet. "She is strong, competent, humble and confidently adjusts to and leads through change and challenges with ease. Her upbeat personality is a treasure, and we appreciate her dedication to improving lives these past 14 years.”
