Clinical Practice Facilitator Cindy has been honored with the North Oaks Health System Nurse Excellence Award for February 2021.
In 2003, Cindy first joined the North Oaks Well Baby Nursery team as a Nurse Tech while in nursing school. Upon graduation, she accepted a Staff Registered Nurse position with the Well Baby Nursery and Pediatrics Unit. Eleven years later, she transferred to the Infection Prevention Department. After a nearly 1-year hiatus in 2016, she returned to North Oaks in 2017 as a Medicine Unit Staff Registered Nurse. The following year, she accepted her current position as North Oaks Physician Group’s Clinical Practice Facilitator.
“Professionally speaking, I grew up at North Oaks. From trainer to regulatory liaison, I wear many hats in my current role,” Cindy explains. “Knowing my input is valued is the best feeling.”
Cindy earned her bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Southeastern Louisiana University and also is a credentialed trainer for the health system’s Epic electronic health record system. Her ambition to enter her chosen profession was inspired by the nursing care her father received during his cancer treatments.
“The nurses were his hope, his comfort, his angels. I became a nurse to be someone’s angel,” shares Cindy.
Originally from Neenah, Wisconsin, Cindy lives in Tickfaw with her husband Terry and 16-year-old daughter Rebecca. They are parishioners of Holy Ghost Catholic Church.
Cindy cherishes family time and enjoys reading, as well as watching Rebecca play soccer.
