Christmas came early for Tyra, a certified nursing assistant at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond, La.
A respected and instrumental member of the Telemetry Unit West team, resident of Greensburg, La. and mother of three, Tyra has been without a vehicle of her own. Despite her transportation challenges, she has consistently reported to work without fail.
As luck would have it, the son and daughter-in-law of Tyra’s coworker Misti, a charge nurse on the unit, had a vehicle for sale. Tyra approached Misti, her son Josh and daughter-in-law, Lacy, about purchasing the vehicle via a payment plan option.
They agreed to the plan, but secretly, had decided to gift the car to Tyra for being such an extraordinary coworker to Misti and the rest of the Telemetry Unit team. Once Misti let the rest of Tyra’s coworkers in on the surprise, they banded together to collect enough money to cover the title transfer and insurance expenses for Tyra.
Watch along as the surprise unfolds on Dec. 18, 2020.
Improving lives every time and with every touch is a mission that the North Oaks Health System family takes to heart not only for our patients and their loved ones, but also for each other! Merry Christmas, Tyra!
