Surgery Center Staff RN Stacey Receives Nurse Excellence Award

Surgery Center Staff Registered Nurse Stacey has received North Oaks Health System's Nurse Excellence Award for October 2019.

Stacey joined the Walk-In Clinic team 11 years ago as a Licensed Practical Nurse. After becoming a Registered Nurse in 2012, Stacey began working on North Oaks Medical Center’s Medicine Unit and moved to the Surgery Center in 2015.

"The best days are when I can make each patient feel at ease before surgery," shares Stacey.

Advice from one of Stacey’s school instructors guides her to this day — treat every patient like they would want their own family member treated.

“That stuck with me, and I do my best to carry this out every day,” she affirms.

“Stacey’s versatility and flexibility are impressive," asserts Clinical Nurse Manager Becky Glascock. "She volunteers to come in early, work late and take on special projects like data collection. She is as comfortable working in pre-admissions testing and pre-op as she is recovery. She also helps out at the hospital on the Same Day Surgery and Endoscopy Units. We can always depend on Stacey to go the extra mile.”
