Jump-start your health care career through a six-month medical assistant training program available at no cost to eligible candidates, age 18 or older with a high school diploma or equivalent!
Plan to attend one of two free, no-obligation informational sessions scheduled from 5-7 p.m. Dec. 18 and 9-11 a.m. Dec. 19 at North Oaks Diagnostic Center, located at 15837 Paul Vega, M.D., Drive in Hammond. Informational sessions will be held in the training auditorium on the first floor. Registration is not required.
The medical assistant training program is made possible through a partnership of GeauxJobs, Northshore Technical Community College (NTCC) and North Oaks Health System.
Opportunities for job placement assistance will be made available to those who successfully complete the training program, according to North Oaks Employee Services Director Tracy Pettigrew.
“Within North Oaks Physician Group alone, we have 35 outpatient clinics where medical assistants are in high demand,” Pettigrew explains.
NTCC Health Sciences and Nursing Associate Provost Christi Marceaux concurs. “We are thrilled to partner with North Oaks Health System to address the workforce demand for qualified medical assistants,” she comments. “Our customized training program offers individuals the ability to enter the health care field and impact their lives in a positive way in a very short period of time.”
