Flex-Ability Registered Nurse Rachel Receives North Oaks Health System Nurse Excellence Award for April 2018

Flex-Ability Registered Nurse (FAN Nurse) Rachel has received the North Oaks Health System Nurse Excellence Award for April 2018.

Rachel joined the North Oaks team in 2008 as a Staff Registered Nurse on the Surgery Unit. In 2012, she became a Flex-Ability Registered Nurse (FAN Nurse). She shares that she loves how being a FAN Nurse gives her the chance to work in and learn about many different areas of the hospital.

"In my book, improving lives means addressing my patients' individual needs and concerns rather than just their diagnosis," shares Rachel.

She earned an associate degree in Nursing from Delgado Charity School of Nursing in New Orleans.

Rachel and Fernando, her husband of nearly 32 years, call Slidell home. They have three adult children – Derek, Joshua and Desiree.

Away from work, Rachel focuses on family. As pastimes, she enjoys concerts, traveling and the outdoors.
