Clinical Nurse Manager Heidi Honored as Leader of the Month for August 2017

Clinical Nurse Manager Heidi has received the North Oaks Health System Leader of the Month Award for August 2017.

Heidi joined the North Oaks team in 2002 as a Surgery Unit Staff Nurse. In 2006, she began helping as a Relief Charge Nurse, and in 2012, she was promoted to her current position.

"Improving lives to me means leading by example, setting goals to make a difference and establishing a connection with our patients," Heidi shares.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Southeastern Louisiana University. Her experience caregiving for her mother after she was diagnosed with terminal cancer determined her career path. “Having that personal experience helped to grow my passion in caring deeply for others,” she explains.

Heidi and her husband Corey live in Ponchatoula with their children – Ava, 12, and Noah, 10.

Away from work, Heidi cherishes time spent with family and friends and cheering on her children in their many athletic endeavors. She also loves to dance.

Professionally, Heidi belongs to the Tangipahoa District Nurses Association and the American Nurses Association.

“Heidi’s passion for top-notch patient care and treating others respectfully sets a shining example for our team," affirms Post-Operative Director Jackie Carr. "Patients, their families and her coworkers think highly of her.”
