2015-2016 North Oaks Student-Athlete of the Year Winners!

The votes are in! North Oaks Sports Medicine is honored to announce the following student-athletes as the 2015-2016 North Oaks Student-Athletes of the Year.


These students were chosen based on excellence in athletic competition, maintaining a 3.0 GPA or higher, being active in school and community organizations and showing respect for coaches, teammates, officials, teachers and other students.

TANGIPAHOA PARISH

Male Winner


Jebadiah Kraft, Ponchatoula High School
  • GPA: 3.93
  • Football, Baseball, Basketball, Soccer
  • In the class 5A playoffs, led the Green Wave football team to a victory over #1 ranked West Monroe to secure a spot in the state quarterfinals
  • National Honor Society; Fellowship of Christian Athletes; District Honor Choir, Class President (Junior Year), Key Club President; Louisiana Boys State; Masonic Honesty and Integrity Award; New Orleans Quarterbacks Club Athlete of the Week; WGNO Friday Night Football Scholar Athlete of the Week; LHSAA Academic All-State team; All-District Soccer Team
  • Leads his teammates on the field, but goes above and beyond to lead his peers in the classroom as well; continually volunteers and rallies students to assist teachers with classroom projects; true model of what a student-athlete should exemplify

Emily Waddell, Ponchatoula High School
  • GPA: 3.78
  • Volleyball
  • 9/8 Ponchatoula defeated Riverside Academy (18 kills, 17 digs, 7 blocks); 9/2 Ponchatoula defeated St. Charles Catholic (17 kills, 1 ace, 20 digs, 8 blocks); 9/1 (14 kills, 2 aces, 10 kills, 3 blocks, 1 assist)
  • National Honor Society; Key Club; French Club; Student Council; Fellowship of Christian Athletes; Woodlawn All-Tournament Team; Leadership Award; Defensive Award
  • Exemplifies what a true leader should be both on and off the court; elected captain by the coaches and teammates; fellow peers respect her and the job she does on the court; stays after practice to work with teammates or to get more work in; great role model and representative of Ponchatoula High School

    LIVINGSTON PARISH

    Male Winner

    Cheyenne Labruzza, Albany High School
    • GPA: 4.1
    • Football
    • Defense - 40 tackles, 3 Tackles for loss; Offense - 1147 yards rushing 12 touchdowns, 324 yards receiving 4 touchdowns
    • Fellowship of Christian Athletes; Beta Club; Football Team captain; holds over 15 scholarship offers including offers from LSU, USC, Florida and Tennessee
    • Leader in the classroom; takes time out to speak to everyone including the elementary students

        Female Winner

        Hannah Vicknair, Albany High School
        • GPA: 4.0
        • Basketball, Track
        • Only returning starter to team; 1st team 7-3A All-District member and a 2nd team All-Livingston Parish.
        • Student Government Junior Representative; Fellowship of Christian Students President; Football Student Trainer/Manager; active member of Bethlehem Baptist Church
        • Models student leadership in every way on and off the court; natural leader that is shown through leadership roles in clubs and work ethic in practice on a daily basis; continues to exude all qualities of a leader and student-athlete
