Medicine Unit Charge Nurse Jesse has been honored with the North Oaks Health System Nurse Excellence Award.
“A smile can make a huge difference in your outlook,” Jesse explains.
In February 2012, Jesse joined the Medicine Unit team as a Staff Nurse. In May 2015, he was promoted to Medicine Unit Charge Nurse.
Jesse’s coworkers voted him “most fun to work with” during National Nurses Week this year.
He earned an associate degree in Nursing from Our Lady of the Lake College and a bachelor’s degree from Southern University, both in Baton Rouge.
He belongs to the American Assembly for Men in Nursing and the National Black Nurses Association.
“Jesse is always smiling and can make anyone smile too—even on the toughest day," explains Medicine Unit Nursing Manager Edna Williams-Scott. "Patients and families love him and often ask for him by name. He leaves a positive, lasting impression on everyone he meets.”
