Pastoral Care Director Keith Kincaid.
Charge Nurse Gabe and other Emergency Department staff members provided extraordinary care for a family in need of spiritual support.
A deceased patient’s adult children were traveling great distances to see her after learning of her unexpected passing, but were unable to reach the hospital before the Coroner’s Office representative arrived to lay claim.
Sensitive to the children’s needs, Gabe explained to the representative that family members were in route to say goodbye. As a result, the representative delayed departure, and the patient’s children were able to have time to be with their mother and process their grief in ways we may never know.
This speaks volumes to Gabe’s compassion and his commitment to patient and family care.
