A new North Oaks Sports Medicine program is shining the spotlight on deserving high school student-athletes in Tangipahoa and Livingston Parishes.
North Oaks Sports Medicine staff and North Oaks Orthopedic Specialty Center doctors will choose a male and a female student-athlete from each parish as “Student-Athletes of the Month.” Nominations will be accepted from coaches, athletic directors and principals from August to April. Athletes must:
- excel in athletic competition
- have a 3.0 grade point average or higher
- participate in school/community organizations
- respect coaches, teammates, officials, teachers and their peers.
Winners will be recognized through award presentations at their school, on the North Oaks website, and on Facebook and Twitter at “mynorthoaks.” In May, North Oaks Sports Medicine Staff will select a “Student-Athlete of the Year” from all monthly honorees.
