Reggie Sanders Trio to Perform at North Oaks Medical Center Expansion Open House

[Hammond, La.]—The Reggie Sanders Trio will perform jazz standards and holiday favorites at the North Oaks Medical Center Expansion Community Open House on Thursday, Nov. 29 from 5-7 p.m.

The Reggie Sanders Trio is known throughout Southeast Louisiana for entertaining audiences with jazz standards from the 1920s through the 1950s.

“North Oaks is like family to me,” Sanders shares. “Both of my daughters were born at North Oaks, and I will always be grateful to the staff for their help in getting me back on my feet after I broke my ankles.”

The North Oaks Medical Center Community Open House will showcase how the hospital is taking health care in a new direction with more privacy, the latest in surgical services technology and expert staff.

The Livingston Parish Children’s Choir Chorale will perform Christmas carols from 4:30-5 p.m. Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne will serve as the keynote speaker for the ribbon cutting program scheduled for 5 p.m. The Louisiana Air National Guard 236th Combat Communications Squadron, based in Hammond, will serve as Color Guard. Alexis Marceaux, of NBC’s The Voice, will perform the National Anthem and Christmas carols, and also sign autographs. After the ribbon cutting, guests can take guided tours and meet the hospital’s expert staff.

Other attractions include the jazz stylings of the Reggie Sanders Trio, a train ride and photos with Santa Claus for children, outdoor snow flurries, cookies and hot chocolate, health screenings and door prize drawings. All activities are free, and guests are encouraged to bring a canned good to benefit local food pantries.

The hospital expansion houses 95 additional private rooms and will take the hospital to 330 total patient beds. It also features fourteen high-tech operating suites, eleven additional same day surgery beds, a surgical intensive care unit and a customized orthopedic and neurosurgery floor with a rehabilitation gym.
