North Oaks Medical Center to Offer Parking Lot Courtesy Shuttle Service

[HAMMOND, La.]—North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond will offer a Parking Lot Courtesy Shuttle transportation service for patients, visitors and staff beginning Monday, Feb. 13 as construction continues for expansion of the hospital.
The complimentary shuttle will run approximately every 8 minutes from 5:30 a.m.-8 p.m. on weekdays.
Stops will include the Parking Garage, parking lots and entrances to the North Oaks Clinic Building, Diagnostic Center, Emergency Room, Office Plaza, Signature Building and Women’s Pavilion.
In other construction-related changes, the north entrance to the Office Plaza, located at 15770 Paul Vega, MD, Drive will close until further notice. Patients, visitors and staff can access the building at the south entrance on the hospital side. Additionally, a portion of Parking Lot “L” (north of the Office Plaza) will close until further notice.
Meeting patient expectations for privacy and convenience is the goal of the $55 million hospital expansion project. Scheduled for completion in the summer of 2012, major components of the 250,000-square-foot expansion include 65 private rooms, 12 outpatient surgery beds and 14 new intra-operative surgical suites.
