North Oaks Heart Health Services Sponsors 9th Annual "Change of Heart" Expo

[HAMMOND, La.]—A limited number of complimentary heart risk assessment appointments and seats in physician-led seminars on arthritis, stroke and diabetes remain available at this weekend’s Change of Heart Expo, sponsored by North Oaks Heart Health Services.
The 9th annual event will take place this Sat., Feb. 4 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at North Oaks Diagnostic Center, located at 15837 Paul Vega, MD, Drive in Hammond. Registration is required for the heart risk assessment. To register, please call North Oaks Scheduling at (985) 230-7777 or (225) 686-4899.
The heart risk assessment screening includes blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol checks to identify individual risk for heart disease and recommended lifestyle changes. Those found to be at moderate-to-high risk will receive a personal consultation with a cardiologist as appropriate. Other expo offerings include a complimentary health fair and heart-healthy food samples.
Rheumatologist Carl M. Gauthier, MD, will kick off the seminar tract with his talk on “Living with Arthritis” from 9-10 a.m. Neurologist Patricio S. Espinosa, MD, MPH, will follow with a presentation on “Acute Stroke Treatment” from 10-11 a.m. Ophthalmologist Daniel J. Dodson, MD, will round out the seminar series by speaking about “Diabetes and the Eye.” Time has been allotted in each session for presenters to respond to participants’ questions. Registration for the seminars is strongly encouraged.
